General instructions for anti-aging face and skin treatments, cellulite, scars,
problem skin, hair restoration and skin care product application.

 

For body: Apply the numbing cream recommended for the body especially. Leave for 10 minutes. If the treatment area has not numbed sufficiently wait a further 10 minutes. Roll the Derma Roller over the areas to be treated very firmly for 5 minutes. Apply anti bacterial cream or the Nova Clinics miracle cream.

Face treatments: Use numbing cream if required. Roll the Derma Roller over the skin back and forth several times in different directions very firmly. As a general guide, roll the Derma Roller over the area to be treated for about 3-5 minutes.

If you are treating above lip creases do not let the Derma Roller touch the lips if you are prone to cold sores. Also remember any areas you treat will look red, raw or bruised, and may feel a little irritated for a few days after the treatment. If you treat scarred pores you may hear a popping sound. There may be some very short term bleeding but this is rare.

When finished the rolling/needling wash the treated area with cold water, dry gently and apply antibacterial cream or the Nova Miracle Cream. If the treated area is very tender apply the cold washcloth soaked in ice water for 30 minutes to soothe before you apply the cream.

Face & body aftercare: Immediately after the procedure and for the first two days, the skin may look red and bruised. There may be swelling or oozing. Some people develop milia (small white dots) on the skin as it heals. Acne-breakouts may occur or cold sores may break out if you are prone to them.

For the first 2 days [method one, very firm roll] following the procedure all that is required is to wash the treated area twice a day and apply anti bacterial cream or Nova Miracle Cream. If skin becomes itchy, which would be rare, apply hydrocortisone cream from the chemist or Nova Miracle Cream.

If the method one procedure is done on the face Friday evening, women can generally wear makeup and return to work on Monday. Men will not be able to shave for a few days after face treatment.

Care of the Derma Roller (Method one): when you have finished your procedure rinse the roller under hot running water. Then stand head first in your plastic cylinder, half fill with disinfectant and leave for approximately half to one hour, no longer. Shake off excess and stand on a clean towel to dry. When completely dry (don't put away wet) replace plastic cap and store roller dried plastic cylinder provided (obviously it is also important to keep the case clean.). Store in a place where it will not be bumped around so the needles stay protected and undamaged.

Repeating the treatment: Although noticeable results may be achieved with a single face or body needling procedure, it can be repeated once a month. This process of remodeling can go on for up to 12 months after each treatment.

Method Two: Face only: Gentle Roll. Use once week for face improvement.
Or 5 days out of 7 if using for better penetration of skin care products:


If you want to follow a gentler procedure the Derma Roller can be used once a day, either night or morning. This method may not require numbing cream, it is a personal choice. Wash and dry the area to be treated, use the roller, and then apply the Nova miracle cream, or a good quality face moisturizer.

To use the Derma Roller just to improve penetration of your skin care products: Each morning after you shower or wash, [use your roller 5 days out of the week, and let the skin rest for the next 2 days] gently roll the Derma Roller over the skin for 2-3 minutes in several directions then apply your skin cream. The roller may tickle to begin with but you soon get used to it.

Care of the Derma-roller (Method Two): Wash the roller under hot running water, allow to dry Shake off excess and stand on a clean towel to dry. When completely dry (don't put away wet) replace plastic cap and store roller in the plastic case provided (obviously it is also important to keep the case clean.). Store it in a place where it wont be bumped around so the needles stay protected and undamaged. Soak the Derma Roller in disinfectant once-a-week as above for about half to one hour.

Never share your Derma Roller with others because of the high risk of cross infection.

Your tub of numbing cream: Once opened store the tub in the fridge. It has a shelf life of two years. More numbing cream can be brought from our web site.

For hair loss, gray hair or thinning hair:

Each morning after shower and washing the scalp, dry well. Run the roller gently over the scalp, in one direction only, not back and forth, for 2-3 minutes. Apply 1 ml of 5% Minoxidil or Rogaine from the pharmacy to balding areas and massage in well. The scalp may flake after a few days; just rub the dead skin off when shampooing your hair. Treat once a day.

Instructions for use of Nova Derma Stamp

Use Numbing cream topical anaesthetic (available from our website). Some people are sensitive and need it, others say it is such a quick procedure they do not feel the need of it at all.

If you do use a numbing cream - apply generously with clean hands to cleaned area. Leave for at least 10 minutes, and then follow the procedure to stamp.

Procedure:

1] Wash area to be treated and dry with clean towel.

Apply numbing cream if you are going to use it. Store left over cream in fridge.

2] Dip Nova derma stamp into disinfectant - the type you would have in a first aid kit. Shake off excess liquid.

3] Stamp the scar/s you are going to treat firmly about twenty times, this may take 2-3 minutes.

4] Wash treated area and dry with a clean towel, there may be minute bleeding. Apply a very small amount of anti bacterial or anti-biotic cream or oil. This is available on our website, or buy a small tube from the supermarket. You can also use Nova Clinics miracle cream.

5] Do not use the stamp again on this area. You only treat once at this stage.

6] Be patient. Wait 4-6 weeks to see your result as your own collagen will grow and fill in the scar/s. There should be no down time and no post application pain.

Second Treatment after 4-6 weeks. Follow same instructions as above.
Then wait another 4-6 weeks and if necessary repeat the treatment for the third time.

Cleaning of Nova Derma Stamp: Rinse the Nova derma stamp under cold running water after use. Stand in disinfectant for ½ to 1 hour. Shake off excess liquid, stand on clean towel to dry. Once dry put the derma stamp cap on and keep in clean area ready for next treatment. The Derma Stamp can be used up to 10 times max before disposal.
